I didn’t have an actual disc for Windows XP Pro, but I did have a Chinese version of it with a serial key. When I was fixing Dexter’s sister’s computer, I wasn’t going to install Chinese Windows for them. I had a Windows XP Tablet Edition disc, but no key. So I figured, what the hey, why don’t I use the key from the Chinese version and use it on the tablet edition. What I found was that only Windows XP Pro English version was installed. Maybe it was because I used an XP Pro key. Either way, here is how to do it.
- Insert Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005 disc into computer and install Windows as normal
- When the installation asks for a serial number, use the one written on the Chinese XP Pro disc.
